Archery), Rapier, Target Archery, and Arts & Sciences. What

Time: Site opens at 12:30 PM on Friday 4/25 and closes at 12:30 PM on Sunday 4/27

Location: Optimist Farm Club, 2908 Optimist Farm Road, Apex, NC 27539

Directions:

  • From areas North: Make your best way to I-885 S towards Raleigh, then keep right on NC-885S towards Sandford. Take exit
    54B onto NC-55 Bypass East toward Holy Springs, Fuquay-Varina. In .7 miles make a U-turn and then in 900 ft a right onto Old
    Smithfield Rd. Turn left onto Optimist Farm Rd and go 3.4 miles.
  • From Areas East: Make your best way to I-40 E towards Raleigh. Take Exit 279A onto Triangle Expwy, NC-885S. Stay on NC-
    885 S toward Sanford, NC 540 S. Take exit 54B onto NC-55 bypass East toward Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, make a U turn.
    In 900 ft turn right onto Old Smithfield Rd. In 3.4 miles, turn left onto Optimist Farm Rd.
  • From areas West: Make your best way to US-70 East, US-401 S toward Garner. Turn Right on S Saunders Street. Keep right
    onto Fayetteville Rd toward Fuquay-Varina, Fayetteville. Turn Right on Ten-Ten Road. Turn Left onto Lake Wheeler Road. Turn
    right onto Optimist Farm Rd. Go one mile.
  • From areas South: Make your best way to I-95 BS N then take exit 81 to merge onto I-40 towards Raleigh. Take the exit onto
    Cleveland Road, keep right to stay on Cleveland Rd. Bear left to stay on Cleveland Rd. Turn Right onto Benson Rd. Turn left
    onto Ten-Ten Rd. Turn left onto Lake Wheeler Rd. Turn Right onto Optimist Farm Rd.


Accessibility: This is a primitive site but fairly level. There is gravel, grass, and some sloping areas, mostly near the pond
and tree lines. Site will be sprayed for fire ants prior to event.

Pets: All pets must be leashed and cleaned up after. Only service animals are allowed in the building.

Fires: Fires are permitted in above ground fire containers set on gravel or brick, or in the central firepit on site.

Trash: There are no dumpsters or trash receptacles on site. All trash must be taken off site and disposed of appropriately.

Martial Activities: A Warlord Tourney

Armored Combat (including Archery):

Two Warlord Tournaments, chivalry and unbelt, that will
culminate into a joint battle with all armored combats.


Combat Archers will have their own competition to
determine which team they’ll fight with for the large-
scale melee scenarios.


Rapier will also have a Warlord Tourney, led by Sir
Johann and mirroring the Heavy Tournaments.

Rapier

Rapier fighting scenarios will mirror that of heavy combat.
Rapier and heavy fighters will alternate on the field, allowing
time for rest and strategizing between rounds.

There will be a variety of archery activities, including a tournament,
an open practice area, and a “New to Target Archery 101” session
with loaner gear and instructors available.

Site-wide display of methods of making camp look
more authentic, either to your persona, SCA Period,
or both. Includes efforts at making 21st century
items look less 21st century. Entries will stay in their
respective camps and be marked at the entrance so
the populace can travel around to visit them.

A Greco-Roman dayboard will be hosted by Fait Accompli
featuring Early Meal and Late Meal. Donations will be
accepted to cover the cost. There will be no feast.
